Seal of Biliteracy
Congratulations to all seniors from the Class of 2017 who have achieved the Seal of Biliteracy!
New Jersey is one of 26 states in the USA to endorse the Seal of Biliteracy for graduating seniors.
About the Seal
Seniors in their fourth year of language study have the option to sit for a proficiency assessment in that language to determine whether they are eligible to graduate with the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy certifies that the student has demonstrated proficiency in both English and another language. Students studying a spoken language will demonstrate their proficiency on the AAPPL. Latin students will demonstrate their proficiency on the ALIRA. Students must attain at least Intermediate-Mid proficiency in all sections of the assessment. Click on one of the buttons above for sample questions. AAPPL students must use FORM B.
