Graduate from EHTHS with the Seal of Biliteracy AND your diploma!
EHTHS is proud to offer the Seal of Biliteracy program. Seniors studying an upper-level world language class may take a proficiency assessment in that language to determine whether they are eligible to graduate with the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy certifies that the student has demonstrated proficiency in both English and another language. The Seal of Biliteracy is recognized by the NJDOE and will be noted on the student's transcript. To view the EHTHS Seal of Biliteracy brochure click here.
EHTHS Seniors studying a spoken language will demonstrate their proficiency on the AAPPL. Latin students will demonstrate their proficiency on the ALIRA. Students must attain at least Intermediate-Mid proficiency in all sections of the assessment. Click the buttons below for sample questions. AAPPL students must use FORM B. The AAPPL offers a TIPS page with helpful information. Students should review scoring rubrics for speaking and writing for detailed information. Intermediate-Mid = I-3 on the rubric. Students must score I-3 or higher to be considered Intermediate-Mid.
Students not on the Free/Reduced Meal Plan should click HERE to submit $10 payment for the Seal of Biliteracy testing.
